My name is Sarah Greenwalt. Luisa + Louise is a nod to my mother – the most generous, caring, and persevering person I know who is always open to learning something new.  She didn’t set out to blaze any trails, but as a full-time working mom without a college degree, she (with my dad) gave me and my brother everything we needed. My grandmother Tomasita called her Luisa.

I’m a squishy combo of intersecting paths: I’m bi-racial White/Latina from New Mexico. I’m a former Catholic/current Jew. I went to art school and business school. I’m mid-life-ish. I’ve lived in New Mexico, California, Colorado, Argentina, Connecticut, New York (for 11 years) and now Seattle. I am married to a man and have two children. And I am in the middle of a massive professional transformation.

I hope to speak to people who are like me - curious polymaths that are ambitious, hardworking, practical, fun, and want to make the most out of the time I’ve got in this world. The pursuit of practical fulfillment, one very imperfect day at a time.

Like my mother, I also like to work, and thinking about why work means a lot to many of us. We work hard at home, work hard at work, work hard at family, and work hard on ourselves.

I try to keep it honest- reflecting my real modern living experience - my household with two kids and working parents, unfinished projects and little baby ideas, caring about our impact on the world and each other, and trying to understand how to adapt to a fast-moving future with opportunity and uncertainty.
